I fucking hate Joe Lieberman! |
|
My latest reason:
``Brave men and women of color like Dr. Rice have, working with others, changed our nation. And now she can, and I believe will, help lead our nation to change the world and in doing so, to advance our values and protect our security for our children and grandchildren as well.'' - Sen. Joe Lieberman, D-Conn.

"advance our values and protect our security"
Where is he getting this crap from? She didn't protect us very well leading up to 9-11, what makes him think things are going to be better now? Advance our values? Huh..surely he's jesting. She's a freaking neocon. Her values are not American values. They're neocon values.........ahhhh!!!!

4. Lierberman talks like advancing "our values..." = following Bush |
|
as if voting for a meaningless post like cheerleader. Boxer, Byrd, Kennedy and the rest had the decency to engage the debate. Lieb didn't.
it's like Wink and Nod politics -- as if he thinks there's a place *for him* negotiating with the bushies.
and maybe there is -- maybe he sees himself as the person to bridge the chasm. yuk. it's so clubby.

9. One of my proudest moments |
|
was when I was bodily ejected from the 1994 Democratic State Convention for leading a demonstration against Holy Joe. They didn't want any "controversy," so they silenced it.
Several people from my town supported me, although they couldn't come out and state it publicly.
Politics is politics.
Joe was elected because he had the support of William F. Buckley and many other conservative Repukes who hated Lowell Weicker and wanted him out of office. They hoped to run one of their own boys six years later against Lieberman, but didn't have to. He is one of their boys.

10. After I called Lieberman's office yesterday I called the CT Dems. |
|
I asked them to run someone else. I said Joe does not represent me or many other dems in the state. I said we don't need a repuke in dem clothing. They told me he had no one opposing him and he would not be replaced because he brings too much money into the state. I told them I didn't care about that, there is too much at stake with him siding with the administration all the time on foreign policy. I suggested Larson as a possibility and they told me John wouldn't do it. I was and am so angry with the party -- they keep Lieberman, they gave Curry no support. We need to work on changing them. Maybe at the meet-up on the 5th we can have a letter writing party! The state machine needs to change.

I doubt we can elect him out of office. I'd be up for trying though. =)

12. I agree, and welcome to DU |

I don't think any electable Dem in the state would challenge Lieberman - meaning Larson or DeLauro, and possibly Blumenthal.

14. The fact that 72% of CT Democrats like the job that he is doing |
|
will make him very difficult to beat in the primary.
