2. Depends on what you want |
|
My friend has a beach house in Broadkill, which is about as cute as you can get with a barely paved road and a smattering of homes on the beach (which technically is still the Inlet - it's where the Delaware river dumps into the Ocean).

I don't think the fish are safe to eat until you get down to Lewes.
Funny story... when I was in grad school, one of our foreign students disappeared for a week for a vacation "at the beach". I asked him where he went and he said "Kitts Hummock."
WTF did he do for a week at Kitts Hummock? Count C-5's coming off the runway at Dover AFB?
They've got mosquitoes that can carry away small children.
C'mon... "Skip the Vineyard this year, hon, we're going to Slaughter Neck."

Specifically, Old New Castle. Very charming colonial town.

4. Is there actually a place to stay in Old New Castle? |
|
And why isn't "Old New Castle" called "Castle"?
I can just see someone getting a room at the Hollywood Motel on Route 13 and thinking, "It was near the airport. This is what they call 'charming' on DU...."
Pack walking shoes, condoms and a bulletproof vest.
If you want a charming place to visit in Delaware, go to Annapolis.
