The southern direction of the Limestone sanctuary roof and its angle could not have been designed better (wonderful in both direction and pitch) for mounting solar panels on it that can convert the sun's rays into electricity which will then be sent out onto the electrical grid (avoiding the expense of batteries). On sunny days when we are not using much electricity, our church's electrical meter will go backwards. In the evenings or when it is raining, the meter will move forward when electricity is being used in the building. The 180 solar panels will produce, in an environmentally-friendly manner, about 2/3 of the electricity that Limestone uses annually.

This Sunday
"Creation Care" is the sermon based on Romans 8:12-25 by Pastor Bruce Gillette on this Sunday, July 20th at the 10:00 a.m. worship service.
Pastor Carolyn Gillette has written a new hymn for this Sunday, "At the Dawn of Your Creation".
We will dedicate our new sanctuary roof and solar panels on July 20th in our 10:00 a.m. worship service. Everyone is encouraged to wear something green or yellow to church.
The Pick-up Choir will sing an anthem version of "For the Beauty of the Earth" (come at 9:00 a.m. to sing with them). The benediction response, "An Irish Blessing", will be sung by the Diamond State Chorus. Betty Nicholson will play a special offertory, "I Bowed On My Knees and Cried, 'Holy' ".
Children ages 3 through 2nd grade may leave after the Time with Children for their Summer Church School class in the room adjacent to the Church Nursery (next to the narthex). Older children are invited to stay in worship.
A reception with special refreshments (sun cookies, cake and lemonade) will follow the worship service. Special "sun" beach balls will be given to all families with children at the dedication. We hope you can join us for this wonderful time!
