Girl's Dad Whacks Naked Boy Found In Home
Girl's Dad Whacks Naked Boy Found In Home

DELTONA, Fla. -- An angry Deltona father whacked his teenage daughter's boyfriend with a metal pipe after finding the boy naked in his daughter's room.

Authorities said Raul Colon, 45, didn't even know his daughter had a boyfriend or that the youngster had been sneaking into the home for more than a year.

When he heard noises coming from his daughter's bedroom Thursday morning and saw a stranger standing naked on the girl's bed, he swung a metal pipe. He then chased the teen out the front door and called police.

The boy was taken to the hospital where doctors closed a head wound with staples.

Using the "family" definition.

The kid got off easy, I'd say. If he's been getting lucky for over a year, then that's a pretty good trade off.

45. Mess with the Bull, get the horn.
Our young stud surely knew there was an element of danger in sneaking into someone's house to have some sex. If he's scarred for life, so be it. That's part of growing up.

What was Dad supposed to do? Maybe he could have made them some hot cocoa after they were finished and counseled them on how to practice safe sex? Then he could have given the young lovers a gift certificate to a Holiday Inn Express? Nah, that's just not the way it works.

Naked stranger in the home? That's home invasion. Kid's lucky he didn't get shot (justifiably). The father may be charged, but he'll get off. Age of the perpetrator does not come into play when we're talking home invasion.

33. Not really.
It's the parents' house and the children should live by the parents' rules. My mother would never let me have male sleep-overs when I was a teenager, nor should she have. However, she educated me on birth control and never felt it necessary to pretend to "own" my hymen.

The daughter lacks respect for her parents. The boyfriend lacks respect for both the parents AND the daughter by going along with this.

That said, I agree that the father should be charged with assault, but a jury will not convict him, particularly if he gets a jury chalked full of parents.

50. And, I didn't excuse him.
I said he should be charged.

But, I also said that I can understand the father's anger and outrage.

And, for good measure, I added that he will not be convicted on that charge because most parents would sympathize, should it go to trial. The prosecuter may already know this and plead him down, anyway.

43. No jury in the world will convict.
All Daddy has to say is he thought his daughter was in danger because he saw some unidentified, stark naked, male standing over her bed. It'll never make it past a grand jury and any prosecutor who takes a case like that is nuts.

Seems a consensus on this topic is that daughters should have sex at the guy's place, and never trust nor talk to their fathers about these issues lest her boyfriend gets a "merciful" beating.

57. Hitting a naked guy with a metal pipe? What courage! What manliness!
I'll bet his daughter's not going to be living in his house much longer now that she knows her dad's a big 'ol fearful weenie.

Somehow I doubt it would've taken most fathers of teenagers more than a split second to size up the situation. The boyfriend actually got off easy getting smacked in the head with a metal pipe. In my family, the poor kids would have had to endure a thoroughly embarrassing lecture about birth control and STD's, and it's unlikely the incident would have escaped the notice of various alert younger cousins and siblings either.

There's nothing quite like having a bratty eight year old cousin, at the worst possible moment, bursting out giggling and pointing and dancing about, "Hah hah, you guys were NAKED! You guys were NAKED!"

59. hmm...
Not enough information indeed...however, most people are familiar with Florida's some what new "self-defense" laws in place. The kid broke into the house knowing there was a chance he could be seen in an "intruder" like light from the father.

"...The Florida law, which served as a model for the others, gives people the right to use deadly force against intruders entering their homes. They no longer need to prove that they feared for their safety, only that the person they killed had intruded unlawfully and forcefully. The law also extends this principle to vehicles.
In addition, the law does away with an earlier requirement that a person attacked in a public place must retreat if possible. Now, that same person, in the law’s words, “has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force. The law also forbids the arrest, detention or prosecution of the people covered by the law, and it prohibits civil suits against them..."
