We made no dent in the Florida legislature. |
|
Whoever is in charge of our state party needs to be shown the door! I'm tired of Republicans dominating our legislature. Reps control the Senate 26-14 and Reps control the House 77-43. We need Obama and Dean to find someone competent to build a party in this state!

7. Good for the Miami Herald to recognize that fact AND to report it. |
|
Dems, in my opinion, do tend to try to prove that they are just like the Republicans, in order to insure advancement.

3. Florida can only do one thing right at a time. |
|
Obama's lawyers were watching the presidential race only. Nobody was paying attention to the rest of the races in Fla, so they were predictably flipped or rigged or effed in one way or another like usual.
Oh well, this keeps Governor Mary-I mean-Charlie happy.

5. This has absolutely nothing to do with who's in charge of our state party... |
|
and everything to do with gerrymandered districting.

6. It can be done, but not with the old guard Florida Dem types who play |
|
the same games that the Republicans do. Maybe it's time to keep track of the Dems who are appointed by Crist to see how they pan out. If they are playing the "go along, to get along," game, it would be difficult for them to stand out against a Republican, unless the population is so angry at their Republican rep. that they'll just vote for the other guy.
But I do think it's telling that Florida Dems made no dent in the State races. Maybe they need Dean here to organize a successful race?

8. Sympathies From Across The Gulf |
|
You have my sympathy from the other side of the Gulf of Mexico. The Republicans remain in control of the state government. It looks like the Texas Democratic Party failed to get enough people elected to regain control of the Texas House of Representatives this year. The Texas State Senate remains firmly in the hands of the Stupid Party.
Our state Democratic Party hasn't been the same since Jeb's brother defeated Ann Richards in 1994. We're still rebuilding from that disaster.
Good luck to you.
