What does the landscape look like for the Florida governorship in 2010? |
|
Now that Crist is off to bigger and better things, I would like to think that this at least gives the Democrats a fighting chance (I'm sure it will still be tough) to win the Florida governorship. That would be a fair trade in my view: let Crist win the Senate seat and in exchange, we take the governorship, giving our side a veto pen in redistricting and the ability to appoint the Secretary of State (who controls the vote counting in 2012).

1. There aren't any Democrats in Florida worth a damn. |
|
The last few people who've run against the Republicans are all party hacks, "placeholders," people the wimps just run to bolster the illusion of choice. Since Florida's Democrats are all the submissive slaves of the Republicans, that's all they can do.
The only genuine Democrats in the state write for free "weekly newspapers," where surrounded by ads for gay dating services and drug treatment, they explain how horrible politics really is in this state. But nobody would vote for drunken, drugged-up public hedonists, no matter how right they might be about the issues.

2. ANY Democrat that IS Worth A Damn They Try To Shut Up! The FDP Is OWNED By RPoF! |
|
These crooks are so "bought" and most people who can tie their own shoes know it! The party "aparatchiks" are in it as agents of the Republicans. Their record is clear both in ineptitude and attitude. The best candidate for the FDP is always an ex-REPUBLICAN! Because of their actions to kill well meaning COMPETENT people who run for office for the "right" reasons, there is no BENCH!
The public see this ineptitude as a gross deficiency in INTEGRITY! Soooo WHY should anyone vote for democrats to lead in Floriduh?
As a populist and True Blue Democrat who has helped to exposed the "side jobs" of the party chair and others, John Russell has been one Democrat who has demonstrated personal and political integrity. www.johnrussellforcongress.com Jim Davis was a pitiful candidate in 2006, on purpose of course as he "mailed IT in." Sink has her potholes and skeletons and they are sure to come out once the real fireworks start. Because of this, we are going to end up with a disgusting character like Bill McCullum! Blame the FDP/THURMAN! They deserve it, but it is WE who wil PAY THE PRICE!
When Wasserman-Schultz endorsed Ginny Brown-Waite not once but twice in the St. Pete Times in 2006, that was the last straw for me. Just because Russell favors a balanced even handed approach in dealing with the middle east i.e., Israel. Let's not forget "how" they screwed Lt. Col. Bob Bowman on the Space Coast and Clint Curtis among others as well!
Thurman and her tagalongs are the Masters of Disaster for us and should be replaced. Hell, If Russell ran the FDP it would be the strongest state party in the nation, but alas as Chuck Todd stated on the late Tim Russert's weekend show, "the Florida Democratic Party is the worst in the country, bar none." :puke:

Alex Sink is likely to be the Democratic nominee. Sink is currently the CFO and one of two Democrats elected statewide in Florida. She is also the wife of Bill McBride, who was the unsuccessful Democratic nominee for governor in 2002. Bob Graham and the chairwoman of the FDP have already endorsed her, so she'll be our likely nominee.
On the GOP side is current AG and two-time Senate loser Bill McCollum. He'd be the early favorite, but Agriculture Commissioner Charles Bronson might open a primary campaign.
Considering the relative weakness of the uncharasmatic McCollum, combined with a better than average Democratic candidate in Sink, this could be a possible pickup. But my faith in the state Democratic Party is such that we can take a sure winner and lose it in a heartbeat.

8. Alan Grayson IS A Rare Example Of A Florida Democrat With Integrity. He IS NOT |
|
Beholden to FDP and would be a fine choice. However he has only been in congress about 5 months. Give him some time to get his feet under him. This election is pretty much gone already. I cringe at the thought of McCullum but the Repubs I think have looked at this and are confident in the complete weakness and ineptitude of the Florida Democratic "Machine." Ha! We R screwed! :nuke: :puke:
I wonder what Thurman will have to brag about after this one? She's running out of spin!

10. Latest poll has her up 4. |
|
Edited on Thu Jun-11-09 07:18 PM by CalGator
It's early and neither candidate has 40%, but the latest poll by Quinnipiac has her ahead 38-34. McCollum had similar leads (1% and later 6%) in some earlier polls by Mason-Dixon. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florida_gubernatorial_election,_2010Things are looking good.
