Elected in the Fall of 2008 to precede controversial predecessor, Phyllis Busansky died in her sleep last night. More details can be found at TBO.com. She was one of the good guys too. She was a great person for the job and was cleaning up Buddy Johnson's mess...Buddy should be in jail for all the conflict of interest and corruption he did.

and I agree he should be on trial. She also wasn't old or in poor health from what I've read. She was at a conference with other elections supervisors. My county will be worse for her loss.

Phyllis was a good person and a dedicated public servant. She was off to a great start cleaning up the disaster left by Buddy. Let's hope that Crist has some compassion for the voters, for the memory of Phyllis and a sense of fairness in reaching his appointment decision. :cry:
