Suzanne Kosmas was elected as a Democrat. She says she will vote NO.
I sent her a letter asking her how she can justify voting against healthcare for all Americans. Also, any politician who votes no on Healthcare should cancel their own government paid insurance. It is so disappointing because when she was elected it seemed like such a good thing. Now when she comes up for reelection she will probably be replaced by a Republican. Do the Democrats not want to be in the majority? Makes me think that they prefer being in the minority so they can pretend they would change things if only they could.

1. we've been doing the OFA calls today...not that i think it would help. she's such a disappointment.
the guy who had the seat before...between her and Feeney... was wonderful. such a loss.

and yes, she's going to lose the seat. she thinks the way to compete is to out republican the republicans. have you seen her fundraising page, btw? i was shocked how much money she's raised compared to Grayson.

2. Kosmas - you will be beaten by a republican in 2010 - why not help change America a little?
yes, this bill wasn't great they voted on, and it's still not over, as the Senate still has their hand in this, but as Grayson said, Congressman Grayson said, “I promised from the start to vote for any bill that saves money and saves lives. This bill does both. This bill will help save the lives of the nearly 45,000 Americans who die every year because they do not have health insurance,” Congressman Grayson said.

Congressman Grayson never wavered in his support of health care reform. Leading up to the vote, he personally spoke with hundreds of constituents, to listen to their concerns and answer their questions. Since August, he has held three health care town halls, a health care telephone town hall meeting, and dozens of other open meetings; consulted with the members of his Health Care Advisory Board; and considered the overwhelming number of calls and emails from constituents.

Congressman Grayson said, “A lot of people say they love America. To them I say, ‘it’s not enough to love what’s in America. You cannot just love the Appalachian Mountains, the Mohave Desert, or the Gulf Coast. You need to love Americans as well. And loving people means taking care of them, sheltering the homeless, feeding the hungry, and healing the sick.’”

3. I would like to force ANY politician who voted NO to publicly decline their
own government paid healthcare. They should have to go to private insurance, and pay out of pocket. Of course, they could opt for emergency room care as needed just like so many others without any insurance.

Also, I haven't noticed the teachers unions speaking out for the healthcare bill. There are so many children who live without adequate healthcare. I work in a Title 1 school, and there is not a week that goes by that some kid isn't toughing out one ailment or another by only seeing our school nurse. It angers and disgusts me to think of those rich politicians pretending to "save" us from real healthcare reform.

5. I sent her an email on Friday when I first read her statement on her no vote.
Her office has not even responded. I wonder if a democrat will run against her because if not then I will be voting for my first republican. Better a louse than a hypocrite.
