Three to four suspects stormed inside and demanded money at the home on the 2100 block of San Filippo Drive Saturday night.
“She was very brave, said Det. Michael Pusatere, Palm Bay Police Department. “She was able to do it secretly without the suspects knowing it’s from a cell phone.”
The men were wearing dark hooded sweatshirts with dark turtlenecks concealing their faces -- each was armed with a handgun.
Investigators say during the 30 minute ordeal, the children were forced onto the ground and beaten.
The mother, Lawanda Parker and her 15-year-old daughter, Breanna, returned home to find the door kicked in. Investigators say the men had cooked hot oil on the stove to threaten the victims, and then threw it on the mother and daughter.
