Republican County Commissioner Arrested!!!!!

Orange County Commissioner Mildred Fernandez has been arrested for essentially taking a bribe. She is also running for Orange County Mayor. This is the gist of the story. A man came to see her regarding help with getting a construction project approved through the county. She said that if he gave her a donation she would help push it through. He went to the State Attorney. An investigator posing as a developer went to seek her help with a similar project and she told him to donate to her campaign. That is the gist of what happened.

2. The truth is....

Mildred is very intelligent. Unfortunately, she is like Richard Rich in "A Man for All Seasons". Her ambition has overtaken everything. She and I used to be good friends but when she decided to get involved with the local Republican Party, she shed all her Democratic friends. When Mildred worked at the old Navy Base she helped my husband to get a job there during a really rough time in his career and I will always be grateful for that, but she often acts like she is too good to speak to me in public. It is really unfortunate.
