despite the fact that comprehensive use plans already in place in Florida have enough room for growth built into them to accommodate 100 million people in the state. (Current population: Slightly less than 20 million)

As I understand it, it would require a voter referendum to make changes in local governments' comprehensive plans. IMO, if the comp plans have gone through all the committees, councils, and boards that are required, and the public has had input -- that's enough for me. I know my city's comp plan work has been intensely tracked, revised, reviewed ad nauseum. There's a big push from our chamber of commerce and grow-grow-grow-at-any-cost faction to encourage a no vote. That's very telling, to me. If they say no, I say yes.
