The final percentages: Amendment 5 got 62.51% and Amendment 6 for 62.84%. The threshold to win was 60%.

2. The plural of anecdote isn't data, but I've been appalled but the...

number of people I've run across who said they were voting against it because it had all those signs. If it had that many signs it must be a bad thing.

I'm convinced that's probably why it was defeated so handily. No visible "Yes on 4" campaign. The Sheeple of Florida strike again!

People didn't understand that it was the developers that opposed this. It was also the developers who are responsible for the urban sprawl Florida finds itself in today. Why do you not want to have a say as to what goes up in your community?
