Maybe I am missing something, but isn’t a Political Action Committee created to raise money to be expended on candidates who share the PACs belief and views?
The dictionary defines a PAC as an organization created by an interest group to collect funds for contributing to election campaigns of their preferred political candidates.
By that definition, the PAC for Equality Florida, the organization dedicated to securing full equality for Florida’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) residents, doesn’t live up to the definition of a PAC.
According to the Florida Division of Elections, Equality Florida PAC has raised $6,142 and spent $2,102 mostly on administrative functions, while making zero contributions in 2010 to any Florida political candidates. Not to Alex Sink. Not to Dan Gelber. Not to any of the pro-LGBT candidates running for the Floria Legislature.
