I am sooo confused -- Feeney campaigning for his competitor? |
|
Today I get this mailer -- "This November, you have a REAL choice for COngress." It compares district 24 Democratic candidate Clint Curtis to repug incumbent Tom Feeney. The comparison makes Curtis sound great. Supports ENERGY INDEPENDENCE and REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS, wants to PROTECT AMERICAN JOBS, endorsed by UNIONS, etc. Then I flip it over, and it's paid for by Feeney!
I just got a pre-recorded phone call. The voice is telling me to support Curtis in next Tuesday's primary. It says he's just been endorsed by the Transportation Union and the News-Journal. Then at the end of the call, the little voice says "paid for by Tom Feeney for congress."
WTF???? It's not like Curtis' sole contender is anything so great that Feeney would be afraid of him. He doesn't even campaign.
What am I missing here? I sent Feeney an ugly letter a couple of weeks ago -- maybe he's just trying to mess with my head.

Our take at first was it suppoerted Curtis. When I read it was paid for by Feeney I had the same WTF?But I think it all looks good for Curtis with all the RED lettered statements! We will be voting for Curtis. I have sent several letters to Feeney, and e-mails , the man is a total sleeze!

2. So I'm not the only one who read it as pro-Feeney |
|
I was truly wondering if it was just me. What is the point?

maybe Feeney has something on Curtis that he is going to spring in the general election?
Or am I just too paranoid now?
The sad fact is, this would be a tough district for any Democrat to win. But I think if it's Feeney vs. Curtis, it could get personal, and ugly. Feeney is such a sleaze, I could see him not being content to just win, he's got to destroy his opponent (just like Karl Rove). There's no sport in destroying a quiet little veterinarian. But destroying the man who tried to bring you down...

Feeney is a skeeve. I'm sure his office in D.C. is getting tired of hearing my voice and reading my emails. His office here in PO is right by my gym and the library, where I am all the time. One of these days when I get motivated to fix myself up real purty, I'm going to go in person and give them an earful live and in stereo.
