Jim Davis Hits the BooksBy Jason Garcia

Democrat Jim Davis, who lost to Charlie Crist in this year's campaign for governor, will go down as more than a historical footnote at one Florida university.
Davis said today that he's giving files documenting his 18 years in the Florida Legislature and the U.S. Congress to the University of South Florida. The "Davis Collection," which Davis' office says will chronicle his work on issues like oil drilling and federal debt-reduction, will be housed among similar files from other Florida politicians.
"I hope that the students of USF can use these records to learn about the challenges Floridians in Congress have encountered over the last decade, as well as our tremendous accomplishments, and find inspiration to pursue a career in public service," Davis said in a statement.
We haven't seen the last of Jim Davis... not by a long shot. And we are fortunate for that.
