When the DU started on this poll it was at 82% Dubya's fault. It is now down to 65%. It is getting freeped. Florida is one of the states which is blaming congressional Democrats rather than Bush for the problem. If you turn cookies off you can vote a million times. Time is not blocking IP addreses or using anything tougher to clear than a cookie to track who has voted. Clear your cookies, set your browser such that it no longer accepts cookies, and refresh/vote a million Times. You'd think I was from Chicago.

Most of these polls are unreliable for exactly that reason.

I once found excerpts from freeperlans bragging about how well they can 'hack the polls'. I found it childish and characteristic of the small minds over there.

I have not, until now, seen anyone on DU advocate for 'tricking' a poll. Not that it's never happened, I've just never seen it.

DU is better than that.

What you can do instead is what I did; call or email the poll's publisher and tell them about the flaw. They may likely just pull it.

The poll probably is just looking at cookies being set and not looking at IP addresses, etc. too for duplicates, though it does appear they are using IP addresses for placing the vote geographically, which seems odd.
