The Florida Today-Our View-
On Monday, lawmakers head into committee meetings to hammer out a deal in preparation for the tax-reform special session starting June 12.
With House and Senate proposals miles apart, the heat is on. Either they come to terms now, or there’s no point to the session.
But agreement shouldn’t be hard for lawmakers who are willing to stop the posturing and move toward the reasonable center.
Just how much posturing is shown by the House’s first plan, which called for eliminating property taxes and replacing them with the highest sales tax in the nation.
