The madatory coverage that has provided a safety net for all of floridas drivers is rapidly drawing toward it's demise. I know some here think that it would be great to save 16 to 20 dollars a month but what we will lose (and never get back) is a law that compells Insurance companies to actually follow through with their promisese of coverage. PIP isn't only about 10K of coverage, it's also about a law that places the rights of the average citizen injured in an accident ahead of the massive company who sold the policy. This is why the large Insurers want to let it die DESPITE turning a profit on it. In any dispute regarding PIP benefits the law protects the consumer and places the burden on the Insurer THIS DOES NOT EXIST in workers comp, medicare or general insurance.
Wake up and call your congresscritters to preserve this law.
