Now that Karen Thurman has disenfranchised us all

with the help of Bill Nelson and the Florida Republicans, what legal remedies do we, as Democratic voters have?

How do we get rid of her? Can we bring suit against them for agreeing to the rules and then breaking them? Class Action lawsuit? Anyone know?

1. I'm Upset Too

I'm upset with everyone. The DNC for these stupid and unfair rules for primaries. The FL state party for not applying to be an early primary state when they had the chance. The Democrats in our legislature who didn't protest or fight this move, even though they knew what would happen. The state party again for trying to hide the actions (or lack thereof) of our state's elected Democrats. The national party again for enforcing sanctions that punish the voters for actions of others. The annointed four states for that selfish, obnoxious pledge. The candidates for signing the pledge.

I must say, as much as I try to understand each rationale in the matter, my enthusiasm for 2008 has declined significantly and I'm not even sure I want to be a Democrat anymore.

4. Worst thing about that article

is the property tax amendment...it's been pulled off the ballot now, so there's no reason we can't move it to Feb. 5th

3. I despise the Electoral College

I don't enjoy multiple primary dates. For pete's sake, why even vote when the candidate has already been chosen? How about those measures we're supposed to vote on on primary day? Isn't there a huge possibility that if your vote doesn't count for the primary candidate, that you will not even go to the polls? If you want an apathetic electorate, this is the way to go about it. I've listened to every argument - the poorer candidates have a chance and the little states have a chance and the minorities have a chance and blah, blah, blah. If you want fairness, have strictly public campaign financing and, for god's sake, create a system where people feel like their vote counts - one primary day for all I care. And, while I'm on a mini-rant, I'd like to see the Electoral College put out to pasture.

5. Florida was NOT disenfranchised

I don't know where ignorantly self involved Floridians think they have some royal right to flout the established rules for the primaries that they helped craft, but THEY ARE NOT DISENFRANCHISED.

Tell that Senator calling Iowa, New Hampshire and the others "terrorist" states to stuff a sock in it. I am so sick of the whining and crying because someone told Florida no. Whats next are Florida Dems going to threaten lawsuits if the candidate that wins the Florida primary isnt automatically handed the nomination?
