I've never voted Republican, but the thought of Ralph Reed in office in GA is making me consider voting GOP for the first time.

One option is to cross and vote for Reed's opponent in droves, so he doesn't even have a chance.

The other - riskier option (therefore paying off higher dividends) - is to cross - and vote for Reed so he becomes the republican candidate - then we can peel off some republican votes where people would rather hodl their nose and vote for a dem than to vote for ralph reed.

It's important we have all Dems out voting in every election. Every cycle, more of us are saying the same thing as you. And I've seen the results of people not bothering to go out and vote. In just 6 short years, the majority blue counties are shrinking. An analysis of election results show that people are just not voting.

If we want to win (in a fair election), we've got to get out numbers up. Sorry for being preachy - just had a meeting last Saturday at state party HQ discussing this very thing.

I always vote. :) I just meant that if there aren't any Dem primaries I'm particularly invested in, I'd consider voting in the Puke primary and see if we can't either torpedo Ralph Reed...or stick the GOP with him in the general. :evilgrin:

12. Only reason ever to cross over and vote Reep

is when there are no, zero, zilch, primary races on the Dem side where you have an important choice to make.

In a perfect world I'd rather we always focused on our own folks and made sure we had a vetting process that produced the best/brightest candidates.

Here, however, I could see voting Reep if it was important enough to do so. I'd prefer to let the Reeps handle that, though.

Remember that there are serious unintended consequences from crossing over. Remember how smug and satisfied the Reeps were when they prevented Cynthia McKinney from winning the primaries?

Funny how not only did Cynthia not go away, but she's actually increased her national prominence from all the attention.

My Republican mother isn't voting for Reed.

She caught wind of the Abrahamoff scandal, and was disgusted. Another year of front-page treatment by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution will really help us out...

I have a lot of Pubs friends and relatives, and the only way we stay friends is NOT to talk about politics!

I'm glad to hear that at least one Pub recognizes that a lot of the Pubs are NOT the Christian leaders thay claim to be!
