1. I sort of prefer the instant ones. Mainly, because I fix breakfast |
|
at work and we only have a microwave, so instant grits are perfect for me.

thought instant grits were the devil's work. She used to accuse me of child abuse for feeding them to my kids (and my kids thought I was abusing them by making them eat grits - but they're 1/2 British and have never lived in the States, so grits are an alien concept to them).

4. There is a man in Athens who makes grits. He farms using mule power! |
|
I got a bag of the yellow grits as a gift and they were excellent!
I'll have to look up his name and see if he's still making grits.

You may have to try and buy some from Big City Bread in Athens. They may have packages of grits. Big City Bread is a bakery and cafe that sells and serves local organic products. Try and call Mr. Tim Mills and Luke the mule! He's in the 706 area code in Athens-Clarke County, GA! TASTY! http://locallygrowncoop.com/pdf/lgbios.pdfhttp://www.bigcitybread.net/breakfast.htmlhttp://www.guidepostsmag.com/WEEKLY_FEATURE.ASP?DATE=7/25/2005http://www.jamesbeard.org/events/2003/04/016.shtmlGood eatin'!
