Georgia DUers--Please answer... |
|
What is the deal with Zell Miller? He was the keynote at the 1992 Democratic National Convention...now he is going to speak at the Republican National Convention!! What is the story? I know that the Southern wing of the Democratic party is more conservative than other parts of the country but is this some sort of personal thing or what?

2. Maybe there is a connection.... |
|
When my husband and I were watching Zell yesterday on MTP, he said that maybe Zell saw the "writing on the wall" so to speak when Max Cleland lost his election and now he is pandering to the extreme right wing. Go figure.

3. From what I remember of Zell |
|
He has never been a leader from the standpoint of having a vision then convincing others to follow him. He is a good weatherman in that he can feel the wind. He goes whatever way the wind blows.
Back in 63 when Lester Maddox had a restaurant in downtown Atlanta, and when Lester handed out baseball bats to patrons then called the news media and stated he would not serve blacks at his restaurant, Zell was right there with him.
Zell is a politician for hire, always has been.
As for what he is doing now? I think he has his eyes fixed on a corner office at the top of the Southern Companies Headquarters tower. The Southern Company is a energy company and I think energy czars have promised Zell a place when he retires from politics.
What Zell would do is be a face this company would place before the public, kind of like Dr. Kalahari taking a figurine out of his cabinet then putting it back after the figurine danced for him.
In the kindest words possible, Zell is a prostitute. Always has been, always will be.

6. He's crazy, pure and simple |

I also agree with the #3 post.
Please be on the lookout on Wednesday night for a rally/event that we are hoping will get national coverage.
At the Park Tavern restaurant in Atlanta, there will be an event called Zell Doesn't Speak for Us. There are already over 300 people signed up to come to this and we've got local and possibly national media coming to let the whole country know that Zell isn't representing the people who elected him and that his own "people" no longer consider him a credible person, that he's not to be trused, and he should be ignored.
If you live in the area, please go to this site, learn about the event, RSVP for it and show up! See you Wednesday!

Now he thinks the fearless leader is the only one who can protect us. ARRGUHHHH I don't know what happened to him. Maybe he's senile or something.

11. Not too sure about this, but... |
|
My opinion was that because he is an ex-Marine, that after 9/11 he felt obligated to support his (alleged) Commander-In-Chief. Same thing after we invaded Iraq. He couldn't oppose Bush* while we were in a combat situation. Now it's too late. The "war" will never end.

12. I dont know what the HELL to call ZELL! |
|
Zell is a disgrace to the Democratic party. I read that a county in south georgia I think...has officially disowned him publically.
He really wants to change parties but dont want to be labeled as a flip-flopper. Funny thing is, the GOP has the nerve to have his flipping behind as the keynote speaker thinking its a dig on the Democats when it actually makes them look foolish! Arent they the ones calling Mr. Kerry a flip-flopper? Well what do you call Zell?
