A peace activist group here in Macon called "Silent Vigil for Peace" meets every Friday at 5:00 to 5:30 PM at the intersection of Washington Avenue and College Street (near Washington Park and across the street from the Washington Memorial Library) to call attention to the senseless loss of life in Iraq and show support for the troops by advocating bringing them home immediately.
I thought you might enjoy seeing a few pictures of the group in action. Each week the number of cars that "honk for peace" as they pass by seems to increase.

After taking these I spoke to Dr. Lindsay Holliday, an organizer and a local dentist, and he gave me permission to invite Georgia DUers to join the group at any time, but he asked that the following rules be followed:
1. Bring your own sign--no personal or political attacks.
2. Pro-peace or anti-war signs only, please.
While the group as a whole is non-partisan, Dr. Holliday is a Democrat. The group meets every Friday, rain or shine.
