Is anyone organizing a demonstration in Atlanta on Sept 15th? |
|
That's the supposed date General Petreus said we would know if the surge is working. I know there is a big peace rally planned in DC for that day (I think it is on a Sunday). We need to get something planned for Atlanta if something hasn't been organized. If there is an organized event on the 15th, we need a DU contingency. Anyone interested?

Today Wednesday, July 11, Senators Chambliss and Isakson voted to stop the Troop Relief Amendment even coming up for a vote. Sen. Jim Webb, VA, introduced an amendment mandating that a US soldier be allowed to come home on leave before having to serve an extended tour.
Our armchair generals, Chambliss and Isakson voted with most other Republicans (including the closet Republican, Liberman) not to allow the amendment to be voted on.
I've written the AJC about this, and urge others to spotlight this "Hell, No, We Don't Support the Troops" action on the part of Chambliss and Isakson. I am so tired of these flag-wavers who treat our citizens in the military like feelingless game pieces.
Jim Webb, btw, is a decorated combat vet (Vietnam).

3. After the dirty campaign Saxby Shameless ran against Max Cleland, |

nothing he does would surprise me. He's a hypocritical chickenhawk who didn't go to Vietnam because of his "bad knee."
People need to wake up and realize the GOP doesn't care about the troops at all.
