Macon Telegraph Endorses Dale Cardwell for US Senate

...The other anti-establishment candidate is former WSB journalist Dale Cardwell. He was the first to say he would challenge for the nomination last summer. People thought he was nuts, not only nuts for running but for also making a "no PAC pledge."

Cardwell was an investigative reporter with the station and was good at exposing corruption. At one time he had to have his family placed in protective custody following the assassination of newly-elected DeKalb County Sheriff Derwin Brown. It was Cardwell who uncovered the corruption of former DeKalb County Sheriff Sidney Dorsey, implicated in Brown's murder. Cardwell also uncovered the abuse of government airplanes and helicopters by Gov. Sonny Perdue...

The balloting was close, but we endorse Dale Cardwell for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. Democrats and Republicans would have to keep on the straight and narrow with Cardwell present.
