September 11th Services ? |
|
Does anyone know about (or, better yet, recommend) any 9/11 services anywhere in GA?
We're fairly new to Georgia (live in metro Atlanta) and are still learning the area. That said, my wife and I are talking about making a weekend of it to see more of the area and state and take time for reflection at whatever services we can find.
If anyone can recommend anything in particular, please share.
Additionally, it would be especially nice to meet-up with some fellow DUer's who are planning to attend any services. Dems seem to be hard to come by in this "neck of the woods", but my guess is I just don't know where to look yet. :P
Have a great and safe holiday weekend! jocal

2. That's what I'm hoping to avoid.... |

We're looking for something a little less on the "rah-rah, go get 'em" mentality (had enough of that last week with the Repug convention) and more focused on those who lost so much that tragic day, including some dear friends of ours....

There are plenty of Dems here in Atlanta, you just have to know where to look. We become scarce quickly in the suburbs.
I haven't heard anything about 9/11 services, but if you're looking for a chance to reflect, look for something inside 285. Decatur's always a good choice. Get much out into the hinterlands and any 9/11 services are likely to be opportunities for war porn more than for reflection.
