Special Dog Adoption Question |
|
My cousin, who is 18 and has lived in Hawaii her whole life, is coming to the Mainland in August. She was accepted at a very good University, just south of us, for Pre-Veterinary Studies. This is very cool as her father, my uncle (who passed away) taught at a University there and we are just now, getting a chance to know each other. I am now her unofficial guardian. Anyways, she has a dilemma. Her mother spoke to me and they need to find a good and loving home for their 1 yr. old beautiful Doberman. I would take the lovely pup but I have four dogs now and five cats. Don't ask. But all of them ate poisoned pet food so I cannot afford to take her baby on due to medical expenses. Her mother asked if I could take her but we sadly cannot. If I had only two dogs I would hands down. Her mother has M.S. and is unable to take care of the pup but will handle the birds ok. Some are being re-homed. Does anyone have an interest in possibly adopting this kind puppy or know of anyone or have any suggestions? I kind of hate to ask but I know there are good people at DU.

2. Good thing she didn't have a human kid... |

Why do humans treat pets as disposable? I'm glad the dog found a new guardian. Hopefully this one will prove more responsible and offer the dog a permanent commitment.
