hotels in DC
Can anyone recommend decent simple hotels in DC that aren't astronomical in price? Two young wait-staff people we've met (from India) would like to visit these 2 cities for their first time, but will clearly be on a tight budget. They will not have a car, so public transport is a must.

We stay with relatives when we visit, so I am clueless to recommend anything.

Thanks in advance for any advice or leads.....
