I don't drink at all. I do computer consulting and flyfishing. My wifes a Dr here so I have alot of free time. Dare I say house husband?

When I was a student at WSU, I was also one of the kayaking instructors at the ASWSU ORC. I had plenty of time to wet a dual taper in my journeys into the bitterroots. Some of my fves within only an hour or 2 are:

Lolo
Warm Springs Creek
A couple more escape me right now, but I sure do miss hucking a parachute adams in the mountains.

I now cast a 9-weight fast-sink saltwater line with a mass of feathers you never can imagine....the fish are quite a bit bigger, but I miss the grace and purity of fishing in flowing waters.

for fun at Elk creek in Id. Most of my fishing is on the Clark Fork in Mon now with a few trips to Rock Creek. My favorite in the San Juan in NM. I was born there. I do alot of saltwater also, bonefishin in hawaii, yup they have bones in Oahu, I've seen um. Hard as hell to catch.

so of course I follow it. The Democratic party is so weak here that we failed to field an opponent for Sen. Crapo (great name for a repub, eh?) I have no idea who is running against our two representatives, but I imagine I will be learning that before too long. I live in Boise and there are a lot of liberals here but it can be kind of depressing sometimes. We have the worst state legislature here. Last year they wanted to ban breastfeeding in public. This year we had the idiot who wanted to put the ten commandments in the statehouse. I could go on and on. . .

I knew about the Lin Whitworth person but not about who is running against Butch. They are both doomed anyway. This isn't such a bad place to live if you can just sort of ignore politics. :P The funny thing is that when we moved here 15 years ago we had Cecil Andrus (D) as governor and at least one democrat as senator. (I would have to look that up), but we have taken a really sharp right turn since then. After all, we are the state that gave the House of Representatives that hypocrite Helen (endangered salmon? Why, you can find cans of salmon on the shelf at Albertson's) Chenoweth.

16. Last democratic senator from Idaho was Frank Church

He served from 1957 until his defeat in 1980. However, Richard Stallings was a democratic congressman from Idaho from 1985 to 1993 and Larry Larocco was a democratic congressman from Idaho from 1991 to 1995.

17. Frank Church was one of the greatest Senators EVER

A man 100% devoted to politics as public service. A man who believed in transparency and accountability in government--eventually giving us the Freedom of Information Act and uncovering a whole lot of nasty CIA black ops.

I'm originally from Idaho, and I think back fondly on those wonderful days with Frank Church in Washington and Cece Andrus up at the statehouse. Those were good times.

13. She got rid of herself

She is one of the few people who said she would only serve for three (I believe) terms and she kept her word, unlike George Nethercutt in Spokane who is still in the house ten years later, after he made the same pledge. I can't stand the woman but at least she kept her word.

14. I think it was the little scandal that got rid of her.

After being on the trash Clinton on his morals bandwagon, it turns out she had an affair while married. Not a big deal in my book, but the hypocrisy in a Republican enclave pretty much made her keep her word in my book.

15. I hate to say it

but I really think she would have gotten re-elected if she had run again. I don't think that little revelation did her much harm -- after all, she asked God for forgivness and he gave it to her. :puke:
