Self-Serving Republican Idahoans |
|
I work with a very nice lady who voted Republican because her husband, a small business owner(not that small for Idaho) said it would be in their best interest. They credit Bush for their new Escolade and trips.
I can't stand to even talk with her anymore. It's getting worse not better. Anyone feeling the same?

I'll give up Idaho potatoes until this state (Idaho) turns around.
I guess I can check the net. Or if you're Bush, "the nets". This is going to be a long four years.

as soon as something Bush does affects their pocketbook negetively. My guess will be Social Security. I expect to hear howls when benefits are cut, which they will have to be if it is privatized. If it isn't SS, it will be the depression brought about by the Europeans, rightly disgusted with our policies, pulling out the economic rug from under us. Just remind them when they whine that THEY are responsible for this, NOT the Dems. Not that that is going to make any of us suffer less.....

As a fellow Idahoan, North Idaho for that matter, I feel your pain. Although I think up this way its starting to get populated with the republican Californians. Not to say that the local are not as conservative as it gets, but now its a mixed population of repubs. The haves and the have-nots.
And just an observation: there sure are a lot of damn churches in the area. I think it all goes hand in hand.

15. How is this trolling post still here? |

Doesn't this offend anybody else?
I pressed the alert, but nothing's come of it yet. The IQ comment is pretty bad too.
As a fifth-generation Idahoan from a very educated and liberal family, I'm not going to put up with these bigoted generalizations.

10. Yes,I'm sick of the same type of thing. |

I feel very isolated and lonely, as if I am the only Democrat in sea of Stepfordish Bush supporters. Sometimes, I just want to scream. And I'm in a foul mood this afternoon after seeing a particularly nasty bumper sticker while at the gym. I know I should shake it off, but I can't.
I really want to move.

progressives. I live in the Boise area, but everyone I know is a Bush-supporter. Maybe we should move downtown; I've toyed with the idea a few times.

Ada County democrats need all the help they can get. I suggest you find their website and contact them.
In the meantime, try to visit the Flicks and the Boise Co-op.
My Kerry yard sign is still up. It'll stay there for a while. My Kerry bumper sticker will stay on for all time.

In fact, I've suggested it to my husband just recently. I have to be downtown twice this week, so I probably should swing by the co-op.
I have contacted the Idaho Democrats via email, but haven't heard anything from them.
I'm in District 20.
Thanks for leaving up your yard sign and bumper sticker - I still get happy whenever I see a sign or sticker.

Keep the Kerry flag flying! I am at a loss to explain how a sniveling, dimwitted little weasel like Bush beat 4, count them 4(!) people of better character, intelligence, dignity, morality, not to mention policy to get where he is: Ann Richards, John McCain, Al Gore, and finally John F. Kerry. I've heard people, even "Dems" talk about how John was scary or this or that. I personally thought he is the best candidate we have seen run in a long while. He is a man that projects honor, decency and thoughtfulness. I hope he is not too disheartened, he is a good man and I wish him all the best.
Long live the squirrels!

Now I live in Nampa. Wow you think you're trapped in repug hell? We (my fiancee and I) checked the polling results on election night as they started to come in. We voted EARLY in the morn and ours were some of the first to be counted. We were 2 of 68 Democratic votes out out 2000+ cast in Canyon County. For an hour we amounted to near 2% apiece the ballots cast against the chimp in chief. Now that will sprout a couple gray hairs!
If anyone would like to start getting together to organize, have fun or just commiserate, I think it would be a great step towards change in this state. There's power in numbers and we should remind them.

Since a large portion of Canyon County is poor and/or of the Mexican/Hispanic minority. What do the Republicans do for these people, aside from blowing things up?

that my nephew said to me, a few days before the election, "John Kerry sucks!" Being the mature and enlightened auntie that I am, I snorted and told him to enjoy the draft.
Yeah, he's nine years old. :eyes:
I wish I'd have asked him why he thought that instead. I'm sure I would have been depressed at his answer, anyway.
It kills me how my family is always bitching about the awful smell of the dairies (Twin Falls) yet they continue to scoff at the environmental movement. Larry Craig argues that dairies shouldn't have to meet ANY kind of air quality standards at all, and they just keep voting for him, and Repubs in general.
:puke:
Gosh, I've been wanting to use that smilie since I joined DU!

20. Larry Craig Thinks Toxins in AG Should Be Hidden |
|
It's "not our business". Even the rural counties are going against him. But they'll vote "r" even if his stand was to introduce additional toxins. "He's looking after them". You know.

Just recently moved, so don't really know my district number.
Most of the people I associated with on a daily basis are liberals. Most of the college professors at the physics department are Democrats and the one non-educated guy here in the office is a Republican.
