I heard something about Butch Otter on NPR

Said he's introducing legislation to discontinue some of the more dangerous provisions of the Patriot Act.

I know he's a republican, but when someone does the right thing they should be thanked. I'm going to send him a note. I haven't found his email or anything yet.

1. I thanked him in person for his opposition

to the more sinister parts of the Patriot Act. I was actually at an Otter For Idaho fundraiser passing out my card when I met him. He must have known I was a liberal because he was almost dismissive of me.

I don't think I'll be voting for Otter though, especially now that it looks like Jerry Brady will be running for gov again.
