Planned Parenthood Protest in Nampa

Dear Nicole,

Please help us support our staff and aptients in Nampa! If you
can offer any time or support, please join us in a peaceful,
positive, pro-Planned Parenthood demonstration at our Nampa site
on Saturday, April 1st. The 'Friends of PPI' will convene at
10am at the Applebaum Family Mental Health Center at 924 12th
Avenue in Nampa. We could really use your support!!

As you may already know, Planned Parenthood of Idaho recently
began offering basic reproductive health care services in Nampa.
Through generous funding provided by the Idaho Women's
Charitable Foundation and a partnership with a local doctor, PPI
is able to offer services in Nampa one Saturday per month.

Canyon County is an area of high need for our services due to
its high rates of sexually transmitted infections and teenage
pregnancy. Though we are responding to a very real need, we have
been confronted with some opposition in Nampa. We could really
use your help in supporting our staff and patients in this area.

The first two times we offered our services in Nampa, our staff
and patients were met with protestors dispersing inaccurate and
inflammatory information and carrying signs depicting
horrifying, tragic scenes. These protests were then followed up
with inaccruate and inflammatory letters ot the editor in the
Idaho Press Tribune. Despite phone calls from area parents and
educators, the protest group vows to return each Saturday with
the same intent--to misinform, intimidate, and humiliate PPI
staff and patients.
