Supervalu to move more than 400 Boise jobs

BOISE - More than 400 Boise-based Supervalu jobs will be leaving the Treasure Valley, the company announced today.

Employees were told about the changes Friday morning. The initial 400 jobs are in the merchandising and marketing departments. The transition period will take between six and 18 months, and will see the positions move to Supervalu's Eden Prairie, Minn. headquarters.

After the cuts, 1700 people out of 2100 currently employed will remain at the headquarters.

"What we announced today was, that, after a lot of consideration, should we be located in Boise, she we be located in Minneapolis, should we co-locate? We decided the best thing was to locate merchandise and marketing in Minneapolis," Noddle said.
