BOISE -- Democratic challenger Larry Grant said today that he is withdrawing from the race for Idaho's 1st congressional district.
The former Micron executive announced that he is supporting the campaign of fellow Democrat Walt Minnick.
"We need to be working together to beat Bill Sali, not spending valuable time and resources in a contentious primary. For that reason, I am withdrawing from the race this morning.
Grant was narrowly defeated in 2006 by Republican Bill Sali. Minnick ran for the U.S. Senate in 1996 and was easily beaten by Sen. Larry Craig.
Minnick is now the only Democrat left in the race.
