Idahoans, I want to know what Idaho towns are good or bad - here's my list
Well, Let me help. Heres a few more

Kamiah Idaho - Sex offender and meth addict paradise

Kooskia Idaho - Home of incest

Priest River, Idaho - be careful in the woods - guns and pot

The Silver Valley - Poison land and birth defects

Cottonwood, Idaho - Mean to Non-Catholics

Orofino - I already mentioned before. Its the worst mormon nepotism place ever recorded.

As I said before: seems like when logging went to hell everyone with a brain left these towns and all the druggies addicts and mentally ill, and developmentally disabled folks couldn't get out while 18 year olds with something going for them all take off for college and never returned leaving the folks with problems behind.

This is all just my opinion of course - open to challenge. I hear it is worse in South Eastern Idaho but haven't seen it for myself. What is it like? There are many things I like about all these places:

The rivers
What is left of the trees
The wilderness
The wildlife
The camping and fishing
The hunting

1. Caldwell, Wilder, Homedale
Best Mexican food in the USA, possibly the world.

2. I have to agree with the best mexican food
part, and they are everywhere!!! Across the street from where I work, Caldwell, is a superb little mexican take out place that is so good, I dream about it!!! Also, really good prices.
I think the town I live in has the highest rate of teen pregnancies in the state.. just my opinion.

3. Sandpoint...I"ve heard very bad.
I've read it is the militia capital of the USA. Can anyone confirm or deny? I have to visit a cousin there, and am wondering if it's worse than Coeur d'Alene and Spokane.

I went to a family reunion there (2nd and 3rd cousins I'd never met before), and my aunt asked me if I was still veolunteering for Dean (2 years after the election was over!). Fortunately, the locals did not overhear her. I had to tell her to please not ask me about politics in front of what might amount to an angry mob if they found out.

4. Don't worry, that is 10 year old information

Which unfortunately tends to be revived on DU anytime the panhandle (or Idaho in general) is mentioned. After the Aryan Nations group was busted and their compound razed to be turned into a "Peace Park", most if not all of the members left the state.

Not claiming Idaho is as pure as the driven Sawtooth snows, but you are perfectly safe visiting your cousin. If anything, that area is one of the few politically purple/blue zones within the state; the others being Boise, Moscow, Pocatello, and Sun Valley.

5. Well, that's encouraging.
I actually didn't see it at DU. I was looking for something liberal-related a few years ago, and found a website where a guy had rated different places for their blue-ness or non-blueness, and Sandpoint was at the top of the red list.

I have to admit that Idaho didn't freak me out HALF as much as Colorado Springs. I hated that place. With all the AF moms walking around with their brainwashed "Class of 0-whatever" tote bags, and all the Focus on the Family crap everywhere.

CS seriously gave me the creeps. I haven't experienced that too many places.

6. Hailey
I think Hailey is the best place. Challis and Clayton are stuck in the backwoods. Salmon? Seems to be getting a little better.
