BOISE, Idaho — Marine aircraft exercises planned across Treasure Valley skies may make life a little louder for some residents over the next two weeks.
The U.S. Marine Corps Marine Aircraft Group 41 will be in the region conducting a series of training flights out of Gowen Field.
Military officials say the Texas-based group wants to take advantage of the unique training offered by high-desert landscape and climate stretching from Boise to Mountain Home.
Aircraft used in the exercises include the F/A-18 Hornet, which uses a high-performance, afterburning engine, and the KC-130T cargo/refueling plane.
The training is scheduled during daylight hours between July 14-23.
