Tens of thousands more voters came out to vote for president in Idaho in 2008 than did in 2004, and it seems that most or nearly all of them supported Obama.
John McCain received 7137 fewer votes in 2008 than Bush did in 2004.
Barack Obama received 54,611 more votes in 2008 than Kerry did in 2004.
The percentages in 2004 were 68% Bush, 30% Kerry The percentages in 2008 are 62% McCain, 36% Obama
Democrats were unable to gain Larry Craig's senate seat (that went to Jim Risch), but we were able to pick up a seat in the House with Walt Minnick's defeat of Bill Sali.
These numbers signal to me a positive change for Idaho. Is it enough? No. But it's a step - a big one - in the right direction.

I see that there are three blue counties instead of just one. Latah, Teton and Blaine.
Can someone please start a thread for those traveling to DC for the inauguration? I haven't made enough posts to do that. Thanks.
We are staying at the L' Enfant January 17-21.
