A small window into life in Northern Idaho! "the battles were not based on any historical fights, but gave the kids a chance to field some of their painted armies." http://macpheesminiaturemen.blogspot.com/2008/09/historical-gaming-club-games.html

Great pics and a good thing in general. The young folks learn so much through gaming even if the battles are not actual historical in nature. They enhance reading skills, research skills, math skills, creative and social skills, it's just a superb hobby for those so inclined.
Recently as a member of our local Park & Rec Board I tried to get a after school board game program set up at our local civic center (which would have been virtually free to the city) and was told by the Director of Parks that our city (50,000 ish) was too big to do so at which point I just hung up my hat and walked away as there was no point in trying to convince someone who's thinking was too small of the benefits (particularly after offering a 2 page proposal on it).
So my hat's are off to this group!:woohoo:
