Anyone in the 2nd Congressional District? |

Seems like Republican Mike Simpson is pretty much running unopposed. His Democratic challenger Mike Crawford isn't actively campaigning and there's an Independent Teabagger Brian Schad who makes Simpson look like a liberal in comparison. How sad that we can't even field a serious candidate against him...
So what do we do? Vote for the Democrat who doesn't even want the job, in hopes that he will change his mind? Or heaven forbid, vote for Simpson so that the Teabagger doesn't have a chance? There was considerable opposition in the Republican primary against Simpson, so its not out of the question that a more conservative Independent could win. I'm beginning to understand how the voters in Florida feel in their 3-way race when their Democrat (Meek) doesn't stand a chance but Crist (moderate ex-Republican) might... but in our case, it would mean voting for a sitting Republican, just to ensure the ultra-conservative Independent didn't get in!
I voted on the Republican primary ballot only because that's where all the action was, just to try and make sure some of the extremists didn't make the final cut, but I'm not sure I can stomach voting for a Republican in the general election. I mean, there's the "lesser of the evils" argument, then there's the just plain EVIL argument...
What do we do?
