Farris made his announcement in Boise yesterday.
He will hold a fund raiser in Sun Valley on October 29th.
BOISE-- The November election is less than a month away but the bulk of the election talk is about the 2012 election.
Now, a newcomer has thrown his name in the ring for a seat in the United States Congress, now held by Idaho's freshman Representative Raul Labrador.
Lewiston, Idaho native Jimmy Farris filed with the Federal Elections Commission last week. He doesn't have a background in politics; in fact his background is football. Farris spend 6 years in the NFL; still he feels he has what it takes to represent Idaho in Washington DC.
"I am kind of the typical story of a kid who at ten years old said, I want to play in the NFL," said Jimmy Farris.
