But it will be Friday of my first week back at work after damn near 3 weeks. Took Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of Christmas week off to prepare. My 93-year-old mother had a heart attack on Thursday 12/22. Sadly, she passed away Wednesday 12/28. It was a sudden but brief illness, and she died surrounded by her family.

I worked Tuesday of last week and have been off this week with the holiday and bereavement leave. Next week will be horrendous...and I will come home that night wiped out.

She was totally with it until the end, then just sort of faded away. Had hospice care the last few hours. But the last week has been draining. so much to do. I actually slept 10 hours last night, which I never do. Guess I needed it.
