great rally!
the big fallacy about money and politics, i think, is that money wins elections. i guess boodles of ad money buys you some corrupt media coverage, which helps. but tv ads sure do not buy you a union hall full of pissed of volunteers. money does not vote, and it sure the heck does not walk a precinct. we had about 100 people come out today, and almost all walked out with a precinct pack, many for the first time. nobody like to do this, but everybody know, this is where elections are won.
had a couple of dedicated dfa groups from chicago, out for their weekly pilgrimage. a few machinists. and a lot of area people who just kept saying- "what the hell is rahm thinking?"
the duckworth campaign is not really even bothering to knock on doors, got no yard signs, just sending out mail, and posing with barack obama. after having tammy wander off the reservation at several forums, they are trying to keep it to photo-ops, and visits to nursing homes with sitting senators.
lynn sweet had a long chat with the candidate and the staff, and i am itching to see what she will have to say.
we do have the big mo. it was great fun. walkers report lots of good feedback, with only a handful of folks who know who tammy is.
so, who wants to make some phone calls?

1. I'm already working canvassing
I really look forward to these next couple weeks and you're right hardly anyone has even mentioned Duckworth out in the district let alone say they are voting for her. It almost seems like she has more support on these forums than in the district itself.

in the third photo from the bottom, standing against the wall, with the baseball cap on!
it was a great rally. people were so fired up. and the canvassers all said they got a good reception from the voters.
