Anyone else hear Studs Terkel speak last night |
|
at Harold Washington library? He was a guest of Columbia college's "Story Week" going on all week.
He is really an amazing person and one of a kind. He's 93 and he is still sharp as a tack and had the audience captivated the entire time.
He is truly an inspiration to the liberal cause.

It was Studs, Stu Dybek and a the book editor from Columbia. She was supposed to be the facilitor of the discussion and ask questions to both authors. Well once the auditorium filled up Studs couldn't help but address the audience and he was off. After about 5 or 10 minutes of stories and questions for Stu he looked over at the book editor and said something like, "oops, you'd probably like to ask some questions now." The whole event was really about Studs. Stu knew this and he let Studs have the microphone for most of the show.
He really got off on a few political tangents and called out the administation several times. Each time he received A LOT of applause. It was awesome.
I also got him to sign a few of my books.
