I live in Elgin, one of the the "big city" parts of the 14th. Hastert was, at one time, popular here. He was not a Neo-Con-type until Pres. Meathead was elected.
Hey, let's face it-- he brings home the pork, but more importantly, he has NEVER, to Hastert's discredit, bucked the Worthless Piece of Shit Known As George W. Bush (and by the way, why does Bush still have the 'ability' to breath American air? ). One can only dream. Anyhow, even though this area is filled with R's, they are not predominantly "Bushie"-types. This will RADICALLY damage Hastert's re-election dreams.
Besides, Hastert has already publicly stated that this is his last campaign. That sends a message.

Washington post is going to outline Hastert wrong doings this weekend. Lou Dobbs will do the same next week Hastert is losing Republican Support by the day. Republican are now coming into Laesch office for yard signs. Modrate Republican are crossing over. John has a good chance of beating Hastert without DCCC support and money That all going to Duckworth

5. I live in that district.

The R's here, who are my friends and neighbors, ARE NOT friends of the BushScum. They are as close to center as possible. As conservatives, it's understandable that they don't do the right thing and LOUDLY proclaim their discontent. Conservatives are quiet types. It's one of those mental 'quirks' they apparently don't see as a bad thing. Whatever.
However, they are extremely unhappy with Pres. "Offspring of a Diseased Sow", and, following logic, unhappy with 'Jabba the Hastert'.
