I should have put "atrocity" in quotes. I was being sarcastic, making fun of the religious bullies. I'm sorry I was so clumsy in expressing myself. I'm absolutely on your side. I feel dreadful about making such a stupid gaffe and causing needless distress. Does anybody know what pressure groups are so powerful in the Illinois General Assembly to cause them to turn down even a watered-down statement of support for stem-cell research without the funding? I thought it was the Republicans who were dominated by the Religious Right, but Democrats are in the majority here. As we saw in D.C., stem-cell research is popular even in the Republican Congress. I don't get it. What's with Illinois?
A bit OT but in answer to an earlier question, Blagojevich is Eastern Orthodox. I don't know what Topinka is.

I know I'm a little late to this topic, but my friends and I love these too. When she had the nerve to show up at the Pride Parade back in June, we all yelled "WHAT'S SHE THINKING!" at her float as she rolled by. It was priceless.
