here's the thing- christine cegelis, in a nearby, very similar district, should have won her primary. not to rehash that, but to say, she lost to tammy duckworth. about the only thing that tammy had going for her, again, imho, was the whole fighting dem meme. so, i have thought all along that fat denny could, and should, get the holy snot beat out of him by someone willing to tell all the truth that we here on du know. john laesch has given him a few good hard pokes in the nose. but he has not knocked him to the floor and kicked the shit out of him, like we would all like to see. but perhaps events have done it for us. i think that there is a lot more to this all than meets the eye. but i think that laesch could at least be the next congressman flannigan.

5. Let's take Hastert's seat! |
|
Thanks to Ted T. for bringing this up at just the right time. From: don.jones2@...
On behalf of congressional candidate JOHN LAESCH (but not from his political committee)
So, who is the candidate opposing Denny Hastert in Illinois's 14th congressional district? A U.S. Navy veteran, a labor union guy, a straight-shooter. What more could we ask for? Well....some financial support for his campaign would be nice -:) Here's where you go to take care of that: http://www.john06.com/ Right now is when we can tie down Hastert so he can't travel around the country campaigning and raising money for other (R)'s. Thanks for your support! Don Posted by Carolyn Kay MakeThemAccountable.com

Intelligent; grew up the son of missionaries(NOT a radical-right evangelical). Union carpenter, young, energetic, former Naval intelligence officer(Middle East expert), and possesses this peculiar habit of TELLING THE TRUTH. He's the one who will replace Hastert. I live in that district(far Northeast corner). My neighbors, who are mostly old school Republicans(they despise the Neo-Cons)have been asking me what I know about him, as they view him as a real choice.

I'm not saying it to be negative, but Hastert's district was drawn so that even if he say...covered up for a pedophile congressman, he would still get reelected.
The only way Hastert leaves is if he resigns, which will probably happen if we take back the House.

8. Hastert received 69% of the vote here |
|
in 2004. Laesch is by far the best Democrat to ever take on the beast but he doesn't have a prayer unless some key Democrats show up and they are not going to do it because they are terrified of Hastert's power. Denny may be wounded and for the first time in his life politically vulnerable but he has a huge war chest and is extremely organized with massive ground troops at his disposal.

He has nothing to lose.
He needs to pin that sweaty, fat wrestler to the floor and make him cry uncle.
LET 'ER RIP!!!
