From south central Illinois that is! Marion County specifically. I am a fish out of water here but will be moving to Green Bay Wisconsin soon, as my husband found a great job there. We have just about starved to death here with no job prospects. All our area leadership wants to do is bring in more factories. Those of us with higher level degrees have a harder time finding work as these type of jobs are far and few between.

It's cool to know so many are from Illinois. I've been at DU for about 6 mo. but, just recently discovered the discussion and all the different groups. That came from them putting a front page notice of a different group I was interested in. A political one. From there I found the Illinois one. it's good to meet people from here.

Mundelein, to be exact. Just looked at the 8/19/06 roll call and see that I'm listed as "unknown"--so now you know. I'm not a frequent poster but I am a daily reader of DU.
If any of my fellow Lake County DUers happen to read this, wondering if you're involved in any local non-virtual groups? I'm in Lake Co. DFA and work with 10th Dems (even though I'm not in their district--just not a Bean fan, as you might well imagine!).
Finally, is anyone planning to go to Jan. 27 march in DC? You can PM me if you want.

I was on the plan commission for 16 years but quit 2 years ago. I believe both 12 and 22 are supposed to be complete this summer. BTW: when it's all said and done, there will be a new road connecting 12 and 22 between Wal-mart and Costco so you can get there from the north.

37. I worked for her original primary campaign… |
|
because defeating Crane was important. But she's been a disappointment.
Still, I did work on stuff to support her this past campaign. Did you hear or see anything about Bluefest at the end of August? We put that event together for her and she fled without speaking because there were Military Families Speak Out people there to confront her. She actually called me a couple of days later after I wrote her a scathing note of protest regarding her non-appearance. What she had to say was no comfort.
Called her office the other day to get her stance on the "surge" and was unable to extract an answer from her staffer. I fear she will support it (not that lack of support will matter to the monkey king, however).

In this house since 1983, a townhouse 2 miles away in Vernon Hills for the 7 years prior to that. Have been witness to lots of change, obviously. I remember coming up to Libertyville from Deerfield back in 1970 to get my drivers license and it really was "a beautiful place in the country." Not anymore. I work at home so I don't have to go out and about all that often--I can almost pretend that it's still peaceful and pretty from the safety of my own little fortress. But the reality is a bloated consumer paradise, complete with its own transfat alley.
