Remember the Great Chicago Tunnel Flood??? |
|
It was 15 years ago today. I remember walking down Wabash behind Field's and picking my way over all the enormous hoses they were using to empty out the basement.

3. i clearly recalled it. Our river sprung a leak. |

heh, courts closed. my office building was too short to lose power. but there was a surreal atmosphere throughout the loop. very strange. very cool. a river that leaked.
NPR had a nice gig on it this mourning.

4. I worked in the Equitable Building at the time and we were fine. |

No commute problems since I used Metra.
The NPR gig from earlier is what inspired me to post about the flood. What a major snafu that was.
