Ok, my fellow Northerners, here's the situation:
I've met a guy who lives in the Metro St. Louis area through an e-mail list. He will be in Rockford (I live over in Harvard) over the weekend, and has asked for a dinner date.
However, neither of us are very familiar with the dining scene in Rockford. He has volunteered to drive over to Harvard, but that takes him away from the I-39 corridor he will need to use to go home, and I'd hate to ask him to drive out of his way.
So, anyone have any ideas about a nice, moderately priced place to go for a first date? The convention he is going to is headquartered at someplace called "The Breakers", so if it is near that, or any of the major highways, that would be a plus. Thanks!

...about CliffBreakers, I have heard wonderful things about that restaurant. I haven't eaten there but I have talked with people you have and it's supposed to be wonderful.
However, it can be pricey....so if you are looking for more moderate prices maybe a restaurant by the mall?
Cheers
