The advisory will remain in effect until 1 p.m. Sunday for the entire region, according to the weather service alert issued at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
Air temperatures will fall into the single digits below zero overnight, which, combined with northwest winds of 15 to 20 m.p.h., will produce
windchills as low as 25 below zero by sunrise Saturday.snip
Thermometers have not sunk this low since Feb. 4, 2007, when the region began a five-night string of subzero temperatures.
